Job summary
HEAPY is hiring a Building Optimization Engineer to join the Engineering team in Indianapolis. You will perform energy assessments, commissioning, and validation of building systems to optimize energy use and performance.
The role requires a technical engineering degree, 6–9 years of related experience in commissioning HVAC/MEP within built environments, and credentials such as FE and CEM or similar. You will collaborate across teams and contribute to LEED/Energy Star pursuits.
Qualifications
- 4-year engineering or related technical degree in built environment.
- FE Certification and pursuing CEM/CxA/CPP accreditation desired.
- Professional engineer license and commissioning credentials desired.
Responsibilities
- Conduct energy studies and audits of HVAC, lighting, envelope systems.
- Perform installation verification and functional performance testing.
- Validate equipment and controls for optimal operation and energy performance.
- Prepare energy calculations, utility rates, testing procedures, and reports.
- Collaborate with design teams to quantify energy conservation measures.
- Lead client engagements and translate findings into recommendations and scopes.
