Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to drive the full product development lifecycle from concept to high-quality delivery. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams, design, test, and analyze performance while guiding design improvements and engineering best practices.

This hybrid role in New Freedom, PA requires onsite collaboration at least three days per week, with relocation packages available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of fluid and thermal principles.
• Experience with product development and managing configurable systems.
• Ability to mentor and train other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full product development lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and analyze performance.
• Guide manufacturing operations by implementing design enhancements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and present recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED, GB and ASME.
• Generate technical documentation for the product team.
