Job summary

Genesis AEC, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a design team and deliver high-quality mechanical systems for life sciences projects. You’ll drive HVAC calculations, conditioning, piping, and duct design while coordinating with architects, disciplines, and clients.

You’ll mentor engineers, develop equipment specifications, review submittals, and support business development efforts in a collaborative, hybrid-work environment with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Science, and Laboratory industries.
• Proficiency in HVAC load calculations and energy software.
• Strong client relationships and business development capability.
• Expertise in mechanical systems design (chilled water, boilers, AHUs, DX, pumps, ducts, piping, DDC).
• Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Professional software.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a mechanical design team to ensure high-quality project delivery.
• Drive development and review of complex engineering calculations (HVAC, hydraulics, isometrics).
• Coordinate field surveys and HVAC/Central Utility layout design with engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure cohesive project integration.
• Conduct infrastructure assessments and energy evaluations.
• Lead airflow, pressurization, zoning, and classification planning for life sciences.
• Develop equipment specifications and review submittals.
• Support Instrumentation and Control design with Chief Automation Engineer.
