Job summary

Genesis AEC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a team delivering high-quality designs for life sciences projects. You will perform HVAC calculations, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and help specify equipment.

Required: BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, 5–10 years' experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, with strong teamwork and communication. Hybrid work with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Interest in solving complex engineering problems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Proficiency in computerized HVAC load calculation and energy software.
• MS Office and Adobe Professional software proficiency.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and strong communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations, including HVAC load calculations, fan static pressure analysis, hydraulic calculations/modeling, and isometric analyses.
• Perform field surveys and assist in HVAC and Central Utility layout and design with Lead Mechanical Engineer and Designers.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers, architects, client representation, facility operation personnel, and contractors.
• Conduct facility infrastructure assessments, master planning, and energy evaluations.
• Develop airflow diagrams, pressurization plans, zoning plans, and classification plans.
• Assist in developing equipment specifications per company standards and client/vendor requirements.
• Review equipment submittals and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and create punch lists from field observations.
• Assist Lead Mechanical Engineer and Chief Automation Engineer on Instrumentation and Control Design for Mechanical systems.
