Wendel is a nationally recognized Architecture, Engineering, Energy Efficiency, and Construction Management firm seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Buffalo or Rochester, NY. The role leads mechanical design across projects, including engineer-of-record responsibilities, and partners with our Mechanical Discipline Leader to strengthen delivery and staff development.

You will guide project scope, schedule, and budgets while collaborating across disciplines to ensure quality, code-compliant

Competenze

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in HVAC, piping, and building systems.
• Professional Engineer license; ability to obtain licensure in additional states as needed.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; strong MS 365 skills.

Mansioni

• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development, proposals, and project pursuits.
• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of HVAC, piping, fire protection, and related systems.
• Serve as Project Manager or technical lead with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, coordination, and client communication.
• Provide hands-on engineering production, technical direction, and problem solving during design and construction.
• Mentor and develop mechanical staff through coaching, delegation, and on‑the‑job training.
• Lead QA/QC reviews to ensure deliverables meet codes and Wendel standards.
• Coordinate with architecture, electrical, structural, and other partners; support construction phase services.
