Job summary

HEPCO, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products and systems. Projects may include ammunition-handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and related devices.

You will design and develop components and assemblies, and create drawings using Creo Parametric 11. The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 4+ years of experience (master’s with 2+ years could qualify), and strong

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering required.
  • Four+ years of relevant engineering experience required.
  • Master’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Solid modeling and mechanical design experience using CAD software.
  • Experience with Creo/Pro/ENGINEER strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with internal or external manufacturing shops.

Job description

Our client isseeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products and systems. Products may include ammunition-handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and related devices.

  • Design and develop mechanical products, components, assemblies, and mechanisms.
  • Create and maintain product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 11.
  • Perform engineering analysis, experimentation, testing, and product-assurance activities.
  • Analyze and interpret specifications, drawings, models, documents, and test results.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
  • Solve moderately complex mechanical design and development problems.
  • Develop new technical documentation and revise existing documents.
  • Contribute to technical papers, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide technical presentations related to production-support activities when required.
  • Work with internal and external manufacturing shops to produce designs.
  • Support project leaders with project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain effective customer relationships.
  • Remain current on relevant engineering practices, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all applicable safety policies.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • At least four years of relevant engineering experience.
  • A master’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD software.
  • Experience with PTC Pro/ENGINEER or Creo is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems.
  • Experience working with internal or external manufacturing shops.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Between 4 and 15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least two years of experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles under ASME Y14.5-2009 or ASME Y14.5-2018.
  • Working knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Experience with an EPDM system, preferably Windchill.
  • Familiarity with applicable military and commercial design standards.
  • Experience in a military-product production environment.
  • Experience developing precision assembly tooling.
  • Familiarity with current engineering software, applications, and technologies.

Pay Range: $58.00- $63.00per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
