Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design and development of next-generation humanoid manipulation hardware, including robotic arms, actuated joints, transmissions, and end effectors, from concept through production. The role requires hands-on experience shipping electromechanical hardware, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Creo/NX/Onshape), and GD&T with FEA.

You will prototype rapidly, lead testing, and collaborate with controls, electrical, and firmware

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and shipping electromechanical hardware
• Experience with robotic manipulators or similar systems
• CAD proficiency in industry tools
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stacks, machine design and structural analysis

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of robotic arms, joints, actuators, transmissions and end effectors
• Design mechanisms optimized for torque density, backdrivability, weight, stiffness and cost
• Integrate motors, gearing, bearings, sensors, and structures into compact assemblies
• Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, machine design, and FEA/structural analysis
• Rapidly prototype using 3D printing, CNC, and other fabrication methods
• Lead testing, characterization, durability testing and failure analysis
• Drive DFM/DFA and coordinate with suppliers to move designs into production
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, and firmware teams
