Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a senior Member of Technical Staff (Electrical Engineer) to own the electrical backbone of humanoid and robotic arm platforms. You will drive power distribution, custom PCBs, sensing, and interconnects, taking subsystems from schematics to production.

You will collaborate closely with controls and firmware engineers to ensure reliable torque, position control, and integration on physical hardware, with a strong emphasis on power integrity and EMI/EMC considerations.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related.
• 5+ years designing and shipping electronics or electrical hardware.
• Hands-on experience designing electronics for robots or electromechanical systems.
• Experience with humanoids, cobots, robotic arms, drones or related platforms.
• Deep PCB design expertise including multilayer layouts.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design of robotic arms and humanoids end-to-end.
• Design power distribution, conditioning, and safety circuits.
• Lay out custom multilayer PCBs and mixed-signal designs.
• Integrate motor drivers, gate drivers, and current sensing.
• Develop sensing chains for encoders, IMUs, and sensors.
• Design analog front ends and signal-conditioning circuits.
• Develop and implement ECAN/RS-485, SPI, I2C, USB communications.
• Lead design reviews and drive design-for-manufacturing across hardware.
• Work with PCB fabrication partners to scale from prototype to production.
• Execute electrical test plans and life/reliability testing.
