Job summary

Rhoda AI is building the next generation of generalist intelligent robots. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will own the head of our humanoid robot platform, packaging cameras, sensors, and electronics within a tight envelope while meeting design, thermal, mass, and CG targets.

You'll drive the internal architecture, collaborate with perception, industrial design, and cladding teams, and align with the neck interface to deliver a manufacturable, high-performance head.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred).
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in robotics or related fields.
• Experience packaging sensors and electronics in confined envelopes.
• Strong mass properties analysis and CG budgeting.
• CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape.
• Experience collaborating with industrial design and manufacturing teams.
• Familiarity with machining, molding, die casting, and other processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture and packaging of the robot head.
• Balance internal packaging with industrial design surfaces for optimal FOV and thermal performance.
• Manage head mass properties and CG targets with the neck team.
• Design stable sensor mounting and alignment through thermal and dynamic loading.
• Define the mechanical interface to the neck and ensure serviceability.
• Coordinate with cladding for interfaces and assembly sequences.
• Create CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and support design reviews and manufacturing handoffs.
