Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineering to design electro-mechanical systems for high pressure/power and extreme environment applications. You will lead design tasks, interpret models, and work with suppliers to improve manufacturability while meeting ASME Y14.5 standards.

Based in Canoga Park, Sacramento, or Huntsville, the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, travel up to 10%, and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior mechanical engineering experience, or a graduate degree with at least 4 years of experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering models and perform tolerance studies.
• Experience evaluating hardware supplier input and pursuing producibility improvements and cost savings.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and design verification using Creo/NX; ability to conduct design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design tasks for electro-mechanical components and systems for high pressure/power and extreme environments.
• Interpret models and drawings; perform tolerance studies and manufacturability checks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve producibility and reduce costs.
• Lead and participate in trade studies and preliminary designs using Creo/NX; prepare design deliverables and reports.
• Ensure drawings meet ASME Y14.5 standards and present at team meetings.
• Travel up to 10% and support security clearance processes when required.
