Job summary

Wing is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to scale its ground infrastructure for a rapidly changing operation. This onsite role in Palo Alto, CA requires broad mechanical design, prototyping, and analysis expertise across concept through manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will design, build, and test modular ground site systems, run FEA and hand calculations, ensure mass production readiness, mentor juniors, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust hardware solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on experience designing electromechanical hardware.
• Proficient in 3D CAD, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and drawings for manufacturing.
• Experience with FEA/hand calculations for reliability and safety.
• Background in design for manufacturing/assembly for harsh outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical assemblies for automated loading, charging, and ground infrastructure.
• Create 3D CAD models, tolerance stacks, GD&T, and manufacturing drawings.
