Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the drone platform design, including airframe, fuselage, and subsystems.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years designing hardware and shipping products, preferably for drones or aircraft.
• Hands-on experience with flight vehicles or flight-critical structures (airframes, wings, fuselages, landing gear).
• Experience with lightweight structures and aerospace metals/composites.
• Experience in manufacturability across CNC, composites, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of drone platforms (airframe, fuselage, wings, landing gear).
• Balance weight, strength, aerodynamics, flight time, and payload.
• Integrate propulsion, batteries, avionics, and payloads into airframe.
• Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analysis; validate with flight data.
• Prototype rapidly and support flight testing and field operations.
• Analyze failures, drive root cause, and improve designs.
• Ensure manufacturability and field serviceability; design-for-repair.
