Job summary

FlightWave is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, prototype, test, and integrate electromechanical systems for our UAS hardware and ground control platforms.

The role requires 3+ years in a design-focused engineering position, proficiency with SolidWorks (and other CAD tools), and experience supporting high-rate production and NPI efforts. Carson-based position, moving to Torrance in Q1 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years of industry experience in a design-focused engineering role.
• Proven ability to perform FEA analysis (modal, thermal, aerodynamic).

Responsibilities

• Design electromechanical systems for UAS platforms using SolidWorks.
• Prototype, test, and refine designs for scalable manufacturing.
• Develop and build production tools, fixtures, and automation jigs.
• Manage engineering drawings, revisions, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new vendors and manufacturing partners.
• Create assembly procedures, inspection and test procedures, and test reports.
• Participate in the NPI process, including hands-on hardware builds and system bring-up.
• Contribute to design, build, and flight testing of advanced drone platforms.
