Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Sussex, Wisconsin. The role leads product modifications, sustaining engineering initiatives, and new product development for generator set products.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, service, and marketing to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with SolidWorks or Creo, strong CAD modeling and design skills, and proven ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience with SolidWorks or Creo.
Experience in product design, development, and sustaining engineering in manufacturing or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, validation, and implementation of new products and modifications for generator set products.
Define technical requirements and develop solutions balancing performance, cost, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
Create and maintain product specifications, BOMs, and documentation; perform testing and risk assessment.
Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, service, and partners to optimize designs across the product lifecycle.
Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional projects; contribute to continuous improvement.
