Job summary

Generac is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III – Senior Engineer to contribute to cross functional product development. You will interface with engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing to drive design validation, testing, and release of new products.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and hands-on proficiency with CAD/CAE, FEA, CFD, and Windchill PLM.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Designs, validates, and brings new products to market.
Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components; evaluates design, cost, reliability and safety.
Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews part specs and BOMs.
Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners and contract manufacturers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
Uses CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed drawings.
Supports product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs).
Mentors less experienced engineers.
Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
