Job summary

Generac seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to lead product modifications, sustaining initiatives, and new product development for generator set products. You will partner with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Service, and Marketing to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with SolidWorks or Creo.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, validation, and implementation of new products, enhancements, and genset modifications.
• Define technical requirements and develop solutions balancing performance, cost, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
• Use CAD and analysis tools to create detailed designs, drawings, and documentation.
• Develop and execute product testing, validation, and risk assessments for fitness-for-use and requirements compliance.
• Create and maintain product specs, bills of materials, and material requirements for development and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, service, and external partners to optimize designs and resolve issues across the product lifecycle.
• Lead and support cross-functional projects, providing technical expertise and implementing solutions.
• Mentor and support development of less experienced engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
