Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III – Senior Engineer to provide engineering input across product development projects. You will interface with engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and marketing to design and validate new products.

Responsibilities include CAD/CAE modeling, feasibility testing, and mentoring peers. Travel to other Generac facilities may be required; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience releasing CNs to release parts and bills of materials; Windchill or PLM.
• Detail-oriented with multi-project capability; design with plastics, aluminum, sheet metal.
• Ability to perform FEA, CFD analyses and translate technical data to audiences.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAE with 3D modeling; Excel/Word; experience with SAP/ERP.

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates, and brings new products to market with defined requirements.
• Evaluates cost, reliability, safety and conducts tests; reviews BOMs and specs.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists.
• Uses CAD/CAE to model designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Mentors less experienced engineers; may travel to other Generac facilities.
