Job summary

You will lead design efforts for filament-wound composite cases used in solid propulsion and controllable solids systems, develop 3D models, drawings, and specifications, and coordinate with manufacturing and analytics teams.

The role requires advanced knowledge of carbon fiber epoxy systems, lamination theory, and test development; security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher with extensive relevant experience.
• 12+ years of relevant experience; 10+ years with graduate degree; 16+ years if no degree.
• Experience in filament-wound composite pressure vessel design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for filament-wound composite cases and solid propulsion systems.
• Independently develop design concepts, 3D models, and detailed drawings.
• Perform trade studies and develop component specifications and procedures.
• Coordinate with analysis, manufacturing, project engineering, quality, and support teams.
• Plan and execute design assignments in an IPT environment.
• Develop test plans and lead technical reviews.
