Actalent is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to perform structural and thermal FEA, guiding design decisions for robotics hardware. You will plan and execute hardware tests, investigate failures, and create detailed drawings for production readiness.

The role requires eight+ years in mechanical engineering with at least two years in FEA, plus proficiency in ANSYS, SolidWorks, and CAD tools, including experience with motors, actuators, testing, and self-driven execution.

Qualifications

• Requires at least eight years of mechanical engineering experience.
• At least two years performing FEA and experience applying analysis to design decisions.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficient with FEA and mechanical CAD tools; experienced with motors, actuators, drawings, testing and self-directed work.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and thermal finite element analyses and use results to guide mechanical design decisions, tradeoffs, and improvements.
• Plan hardware tests, investigate failures, create detailed drawings, and collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to deliver reliable robotics hardware.
