Job summary

Divergent is building the new industrial age in Los Angeles. A Senior/Staff Mechanical Engineer will own the mechanical design and deployment of automation systems for Adaptive Production Systems. You will translate needs into robust designs and drive from concept through production with cross-functional teams.

You will work on bleeding-edge automation, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability, and mentor engineers while maintaining a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Architect and deliver complex mechanical systems from concept through deployment.
• Strong CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMA skills.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and mentorship experience.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of automation systems from concept to deployment.
• Translate needs into system requirements and interfaces.
• Develop architectures and detailed designs for complex systems.
• Apply broad mechanical engineering expertise across multiple subsystems.
• Evaluate tradeoffs among performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead technical resolution and drive design improvements.
