Job summary

thyssenkrupp nucera USA in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in static/rotating equipment and package units. The role supports design, specification, and execution of projects in a multi-discipline team, with travel up to 20% for site visits and inspections.

You will prepare equipment data sheets, evaluate vendor proposals, and help ensure compliance with API/ASME/ISO standards while coordinating with project teams across electrical, civil, and process disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.
• FE Exam in Mechanical or willingness to sit exam.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of API, ANSI, ASME and ISO standards.
• Experience with equipment design, specification, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and remote collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Support design and selection of static, rotating equipment and package units per specs and standards.
• Prepare data sheets, technical specs, and requisition packages for equipment.
• Evaluate vendor proposals and provide technical procurement input.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to integrate equipment into plant designs.
• Perform engineering calculations and reliability analyses for equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting on-site and during installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in HAZOP, design reviews and operability assessments.
