Job summary

Nesco Resource, LLC in Houston's Energy Corridor is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical equipment design for chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial processing projects. You will develop equipment specifications, datasheets, and vendor evaluations, focusing on static and rotating equipment rather than piping or HVAC.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited), 4+ years of related experience, and a PE license is strongly preferred; EIT/FE status

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 4 years mechanical equipment engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, power, or heavy industrial facilities.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• Experience with static and rotating equipment including vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, and packaged systems.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, and other mechanical codes/standards.
• Previous EPC or engineering consulting experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical equipment specifications, datasheets, calculations, and requisition packages.
• Support selection and procurement of static and rotating equipment.
• Prepare and review technical bid evaluations, vendor proposals, and equipment documentation.
• Review vendor drawings/submittals for code compliance.
• Coordinate with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and other disciplines.
• Provide technical support during engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ensure designs meet ASME/API/ANSI/ISO standards.
• Support domestic and international project activities as needed.
