Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, Virginia is seeking a senior industrial/mission critical engineer to design energy‑efficient mechanical systems for next‑generation data centers.

You will lead cross‑functional teams from concept through implementation, manage budgets, coordinate with hardware groups to optimize integration, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and performance monitoring. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center/mission critical mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in data center/mission critical design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center/mission critical equipment and facilities

Responsibilities

• Design and implement energy-efficient mechanical systems for next-generation data centers
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
• Oversee project lifecycle from conception through implementation, including budget management
• Foster collaborative relationships with hardware teams to optimize facility-equipment integration
• Guide continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring
