Job summary

Heirloom Carbon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the design and execution of complex subsystems, spanning from early R&D to site-scale deployment. You will focus on cost, reliability, and manufacturability while mentoring peers and influencing cross-functional teams.

You will drive trade studies, develop testing strategies for reliability, and generate robust 2D drawings with GD&T for production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering products through full lifecycle.
• Experience applying Design for Reliability (DfR) principles and reliability testing.
• Ability to lead technically complex projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex mechanical subsystems from requirements to deployment.
• Drive subsystem performance across cost, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
• Lead design trade studies using first-principles analysis and data-driven methods.
• Develop product-level test equipment and validation strategies for reliability.
