Job summary

SMB Recruiting seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of mechanical design from concept through launch. You will lead cost reduction and DFM for scalable production, create subsystem specifications, and use NX CAD for design and analysis.

You will participate in cross-functional reviews, ensure documentation quality, and mentor teammates while applying ASME A17.1 standards to deliver high-performance, manufacturable systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering (B.S./M.S.).
• 5–10 years hands-on experience, including commercializing new products.
• Expertise in high-volume production, DFM, FEA, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of mechanical design from concept to launch.
• Lead cost reduction and DFM for scalable production (sheet metal, casting).
• Create and manage subsystem specifications aligned with product requirements.
• Use NX CAD for mechanical design and analysis.
• Participate in cross-functional reviews with software and systems teams.
• Ensure documentation quality, process discipline, and engineering rigor.
• Troubleshoot and mentor hands-on teammates at all levels.
• Learn/apply codes and standards (ASME A17.1).
• Foster a high-performance, inclusive team culture.
