Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Madison, WI to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects in the building industry. You will work with engineers and consultants to provide direction, engineering solutions, and client advice.

The role includes managing budgets, mentoring staff, collaborating across teams, and supporting industrial work such as bulk material handling, substations, automation and plant infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• Minimum 7 years experience in building design consulting industry.
• Experience leading design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems per code.
• Perform site assessments and prepare technical reports.
• Coordinate with clients to capture requirements and build relationships.
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure quality.
• Mentor staff and support cross-team collaboration.
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to R&D.
