IMEG Corp. in Peoria, IL, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts and serve as project manager or lead engineer on moderate to complex projects.

You will collaborate with engineers and consultants to guide projects, provide engineering solutions, and advise clients. You will manage project direction, budgeting, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration in healthcare and MEP markets, advancing energy‑efficient design aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7 years minimum experience, 8+ preferred in building design consulting.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management and design efforts for moderate to complex projects.
• Lead design with limited senior staff support on larger, high‑complexity projects.
• Analyze HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Use engineering software to create designs, specs, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Perform site assessments and prepare detailed analyses and reports.
• Engage with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical info.
• Conduct in‑process design reviews and maintain quality control.
• Mentor staff and provide technical assistance on field issues.
• Manage project budgets and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Stay current on industry trends and contribute to R&D efforts.
• Prioritize safety and identify potential risks.
