Job summary

magniX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of electric motor and battery modules for advanced electrified powertrains in our Everett, Washington facility.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical design background, expertise in thermal management and structural analysis, and experience with rotating equipment and electric systems. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate across Quality, Manufacturing, and Test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong background in mechanical design, thermal management, and structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis of electric propulsion components including electric motors, battery modules and their sub-assemblies and components.
• Develop, optimize and validate motor assemblies and energy storage sub-assemblies for performance, safety, and reliability.
• Own development packages and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Test teams.
• Conduct structural and thermal simulations using FEA and CFD tools.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
• Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company quality requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
