Job summary

RTX in Largo, FL is seeking a highly motivated Senior Level Mechanical Engineer to perform structural analysis, design updates, and documentation for military equipment. This onsite role collaborates with engineers to analyze, document, and report findings to customers to support certifications and MIL-STD-810 compliance.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance, with experience in ANSYS and Creo.

Qualifications

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Experience with thermal issues using CFD software (ANSYS Icepak or comparable).
• Experience with modal analysis, internal stress loading, fatigue, margins of safety calculations, and FEA (ANSYS Mechanical).
• Prior knowledge of PLM/PDM software (PTC Windchill) and 3D CAD software (PTC Creo).

Responsibilities

• Communicate technical topics clearly to peers and non-technical members.
• Mentor and document knowledge to provide technical guidance to the team.
• Work with IPT to identify risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure robust designs meeting MIL-STD-810 environmental loads.
• Document analysis results for internal/external customers to support certifications.
