Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Huntsville is seeking a mid- to senior-level mechanical engineer to design and integrate C2 systems components for DoD projects across vehicles, ships, and centers.

You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, and support testing, with collaboration across procurement, production, and logistics. Candidates should have DoD clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience (level 3) or 8+ years (level 4).
• 3D CAD modeling in NX or SolidWorks; 2D drawings per ASME.
• Experience using TeamCenter PLM and SAP MRPs.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts and assemblies with 3D CAD; create 2D drawings and document revisions.
• Communicate with suppliers and customers to exchange technical information.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics and configuration management.
• Hands-on troubleshooting, inspection, or assembly for prototyping, production, or test.
• Perform analyses: weight/center of mass, structural, transportability, thermal.
• Create, deliver, and defend engineering briefings for design reviews.
• Track task status in an Agile for Hardware environment.
• Lead or mentor junior/mid-level engineers.
