Job summary

Murphy Company in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer or Designer to work in a Design-Build and Design-Assist environment.

The role focuses on ventilation, HVAC systems, and integrated building services for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. You will collaborate with sales, estimating, and construction teams, lead design efforts, ensure code compliance, and develop CAD/BIM deliverables.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; P.E. licensure preferred.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in facilities design for healthcare, higher education, or commercial projects.
• Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Experience with REVIT and AutoCAD; ability to coordinate with multiple trades.
• Desire to support the built environment and work well in a team.
• Strong organizational and multi-project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, review, and develop design criteria for a variety of facilities.
• Develop sequences of operations and control strategies.
• Collaborate with owners, property managers, architects, and construction teams.
• Prepare and review CAD/BIM documentation and specifications.
• Lead design-build efforts and assistEstimating groups with proposals.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and safety standards.
