Job summary

Murphy Company in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer or Designer to work in a Design-Build and Design-Assist environment. This role partners with sales, estimating, and construction to develop facilities designs for commercial, institutional and industrial projects.

The ideal candidate has 10 years' experience, strong knowledge of building codes, and is proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD. A BS in Mechanical Engineering and a P.E. licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10 years' experience or equivalent in facilities design
• Thorough knowledge of building codes
• Desire and Interest to support the built environment
• Self-starter who works well with others and likes being challenged

Responsibilities

• Capable of researching, reviewing, and developing design criteria for variety of facilities
• Controls interaction and experience in developing sequence of operations
• Interact with building owners, property management, architects, and members of construction team
• Excellent organizational, technical, communication (both written and verbal), and documentation skills and be capable of working in a team environment
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems
• Develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards and details
• Prepare and approve shop drawing submittals from vendors
