Job summary

Murphy Company, a leading mechanical contractor, is hiring a Plumbing Engineer or Designer for the St. Louis, MO office.

This role supports Design-Build and Design-Assist environments and collaborates with sales, estimating, and construction teams on a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. Ideal candidates have 4 years of facilities design experience, knowledge of IPC/UPC codes, and proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience in facilities design, healthcare, higher education, or commercial settings.
• Experience working with IPC and UPC plumbing codes.
• Competent in REVIT & AutoCAD.
• Self-starter who works well with others and likes being challenged.
• Able to plan, prioritize, organize and manage responsibilities on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Create and coordinate plumbing system plans and diagrams.
• Assist Estimating and Pre-Construction with construction proposals; define system requirements and equipment selections.
• Generate plans and coordinate with other trades.
• Ensure designs meet all applicable codes and safety standards.
• Prepare and approve shop drawing submittals from vendors; develop CAD/BIM standards and details.
