Job summary

Murphy Company, a leading mechanical contractor, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer or Designer for its St. Louis, MO office. You will work in a Design-Build and Design-Assist environment, collaborating with sales, estimating, and construction teams to design facilities across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), with 10+ years of facilities design and a P.E. licensure.

Qualifications

• 10 years of facilities design experience in healthcare, higher education, or commercial.
• Thorough knowledge of building codes.
• Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree; P.E. licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research, review, and develop design criteria for various facilities.
• Develop sequence of operations and control interaction.
• Interface with owners, property management, architects, and construction team.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Present technical issues to clients and collaborate on solutions.
• Support Estimating and Pre-Construction with proposals.
• Define system requirements and equipment selections for design-build work.
• Produce CAD/BIM standards and details.
