Job summary

Hargrove seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead complete design work for complex assignments, performing stress analysis, piping and process system design, and material specifications. Expect on-site startup support and cross-discipline coordination to ensure cost-effective, constructible solutions.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of industrial ME experience, a ME degree, and PE registration preferred. Strong drafting standards adherence and leadership capabilities are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of design standards and codes.
• Knowledge, application and specification of materials.
• Development of piping material and material procurement specifications.
• Knowledge of good design practices for sizing all piping systems.
• Sizing of compressible fluid piping systems.
• Flexibility and stress analysis of all piping systems.
• Specify criteria for and select piping specialty items.
• Design of complex process and utility systems.
• Knowledge of valve sizing and safety devices.
• Estimating construction quantities.
• Coordination with other disciplines for interoffice delivery.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
• On-site assistance during startup.
• Produce detail design calculations and sketches for materials of construction.
• Review vendor drawings for mechanical input and ensure conformance.
• Develop construction specifications and manage field data collection.
• Provide technical guidance to drafting and engineering personnel.
