Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for its Tucson, AZ site to drive design, development, and production support across Air Launched Effectors hardware. You will own technical tasks, interact with suppliers, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced defense program environment.

The role requires a university degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years, GD&T proficiency, and CREO/ Windchill skills. Onsite work in Tucson, with active U.S.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience in ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership and execution of mechanical design tasks for defense system hardware across design, development, and production sustainment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to model, analyze, and document design data packages.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small teams across multiple functions and disciplines.
• Perform tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function per design intent.
• Apply DFMA and producibility principles to improve new and existing designs.
• Support production of mechanical subsystems at internal factories and supplier sites.
