Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience; Advanced degree with 3+ years is a plus.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or related industry.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning Tolerance (GDT).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership and execution of tasks; serve as prime technical contact for mechanical subsystems.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Lead small teams of junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional functions.
• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and major end items for defense systems.
• Collaborate with factories and suppliers for product integration and manufacturing improvements.
• Perform tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function as intended.
• Improve designs using DFMA and producibility principles.
• Apply problem-solving skills in a fast-paced team environment.
