Job summary

SRC, Inc. seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer to support DoW programs, focusing on vulnerability analysis and the integration of technology into end-to-end WMD/HDBT initiatives.

The role requires collaboration across government, military, and contractor teams to ideate and evaluate execution options. Responsibilities include blast analysis, 3D facility characterization, test design, and handling sensor tech development from concept through prototype fielding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance (or eligibility at application).
• Experience with blast effect modeling and simulation for alternatives and development of testable capabilities.
• Experience with equipment or structure design principles.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D structural design tools.
• Experience reviewing structural drawings.
• Familiarity with military specifications for technical design.
• Strong written and verbal communication for presenting to government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis, blast door response, equipment fragility, and WMD facility systems analysis (mechanical).
• 3D facility characterization.
• Test design and data analysis, concrete/rock damage modeling, and model improvement based on testing results.
• Analyze functions against requirements and propose initial courses of action.
• Contribute to research, development, and integration of sensor technologies from concept to prototype evaluation.
