Job summary

Hamilton Company is seeking a mechanical engineer II or III for the Custom Solutions mechanical engineering team. Responsibilities include designing and implementing custom mechanical products and subsystems for laboratory automation, and bringing solutions from concept to completion.

Qualifications emphasize analytical skills, strong communication, independent work, and 3D CAD/solid modeling experience. Level III may require a Master’s or 6+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of design and development experience.
• Experience creating usable products from design concept to delivery and supporting product during end use.
• Master’s degree and/or 6+ years may qualify for Level III.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform design development tasks from concept to implementation.
• Interpret requirements from Sales and ACEs and deliver products that satisfy those requirements.
• Study and evaluate design concepts and present possible solutions.
• Plan and direct testing to ensure adequate performance across design stages.
• Document tasks with descriptions, specifications, testing and implementation.
• Present developments at design reviews.
• Independently lead major sections of a new product development effort.
• Troubleshoot problems and release standardized products.
