Job summary

DLR Group in Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design of mechanical systems for buildings across education, culture, healthcare, and other sectors. You will produce detailed drawings in Revit, manage project schedules, and collaborate with architects and other disciplines.

The role requires 3–7+ years in mechanical engineering, knowledge of HVAC and building systems, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 3–7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including HVAC design and building systems.
• Proficient in Revit and able to communicate with multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mechanical building systems and prepare drawings and calculations.
• Manage Mechanical Designers and project teams.
• Coordinate with architects and other disciplines to deliver integrated designs.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.
• Perform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research.
