Job summary

Thompson & Litton Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services to lead design and delivery of mechanicaI building services for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

You will oversee HVAC, plumbing and fire protection packages, mentor junior staff, and drive field investigations from concept to completion. Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in building services, a PE license, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP, plus strong codes knowledge (ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA).

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in building services design (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) within commercial, industrial, or institutional sectors.
• Active PE license in the state of practice (or obtainable via reciprocity within 6 months).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP or equivalent building performance software.
• Deep working knowledge of mechanical/building codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
• Proven track record delivering complex building services projects on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead production of mechanical building services packages including advanced HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection plans.
• Analyze HVAC loads, energy usage, and life-cycle costs to deliver high-performance solutions.
• Lead site visits for renovations and additions to gather ground-truth data for integration.
• Author and review technical specifications, reports, and condition assessments.
• Direct construction-phase administration, manage RFIs, submittals, and field assessments.
