Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in solid rocket motor ballistics to support the SRM Engineering Team. The role emphasizes internal ballistics, performance prediction, and propulsion modeling, with leadership across programs.

This is a full-time position with a 9/80 schedule. Remote work is available, or candidates may work onsite at Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; 5–7 years in mechanical engineering.
• Engineering degree required; proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Designs, analyzes, tests, and modifies tools and mechanical systems.
• Reads blueprints and technical drawings; interprets reports.
• Collaborates with engineers to implement procedures and resolve issues.
• Evaluates design proposals for feasibility and cost.
