Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in solid rocket motor ballistics to join our SRM engineering team. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in internal ballistics, performance prediction, and propulsion system modeling to support program goals.

The position is full-time with a 9/80 schedule; remote work is available, or onsite at Huntsville AL, Niceville FL, or Hampton AR facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience in engineering.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Confers with engineers to implement procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
• Researches and analyzes customer design proposals to evaluate feasibility and maintenance needs.
• Specifies system components to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Investigates equipment failures and makes maintenance recommendations.
