Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in solid rocket motor ballistics to support our Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. You will perform detailed ballistic analyses of SRM components, collaborate with crossfunctional teams, interface with customers, and provide technical leadership across programs.

The role offers a 9/80 schedule, with remote option available and onsite work at Huntsville, AL; Niceville, FL; or

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 5-7 years of experience.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
