Job summary

Waymo LLC in the United States is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and integration of exterior automotive components for self-driving hardware. You will work across materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier collaboration to meet strict program targets.

The role requires deep CAD experience (Catia V5/V6) and data management using Enovia, DFMEA, and DVP&R, with opportunities for partial remote work and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience.
• 8–10 years of experience in automotive exterior component design and integration.
• Proficiency with Catia V5/V6 and Enovia for CAD and data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, release, and delivery of exterior components for self-driving systems.
• Identify materials and manufacturing processes for structural and cosmetic parts.
• Ensure on-time delivery against cost, weight, and performance targets.
• Perform DFMEA and DVP&R and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Support source selection and supplier quotes with RFPs and evaluations.
• Utilize CAD tools and supervise CAD personnel for packaging and detailing.
