Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for the Radar Antenna Design II section. The role focuses on electronics packaging for airborne radar subsystems, including enclosure, heat exchangers, RF assemblies, and power systems.

You will lead design efforts, interact with senior engineers, and drive from requirements through production support. The position demands a STEM bachelor’s degree (or higher), 7+ years of relevant experience, and preferred CREO proficiency, GD&T,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
• GD&T and ANSI drawing standards knowledge.
• Experience with electronic packaging for airborne applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on major programs and interface with engineers.
• Lead smaller project teams through design development and ensure data package quality.
• Develop unit design concepts from requirements and perform design trades.
• Produce detailed layouts and design documentation using CAD tools.
• Support suppliers in fabrication of components and assemblies.
• Understand and work with Product Data Management (PDM) workflow.
• Act as Responsible Engineering Authority for a subsystem.
