Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in Austin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to architect and deliver system mechanical designs for boards, enclosures and chassis. You will lead cross-functional teams from conception to testing, shaping interfaces and driving DFx improvements.

Requirements include 7+ years in mechanical engineering, expertise with Creo/NX/SolidWorks, GD&T, and experience in electronics enclosure design and thermal management. Hybrid work with on-site Austin presence is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of related experience
• Experience with tolerance analysis and GD&T
• Experience in sheet metal design, plastic injection molding, diecast, heatsink, fan, interconnect and PCB layout
• Experience with 3D MCAD tools: Creo/NX/SolidWorks
• NX and/or Creo MCAD modeling tools and Teamcenter PDM data management

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and deliver system mechanical design after specification of product requirements
• Demonstrate originality and innovation in defining product and project level architecture
• Lead project team coordinating with other departments from conception to testing
• Design PCB with advanced technology and high IO count
• Develop thermal/structural solutions to meet performance requirements
• Write complete functional and design specs independently
