Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead conveyor and sortation application engineering and project execution within Aftermarket Engineering. The role owns brownfield retrofit, upgrade, and expansion projects in operating distribution centers from discovery to commissioning, integrating Daifuku equipment with third-party systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of material handling related experience, including at least 3 years in conveyor and sortation application, solutions, or proposal engineering.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsabilités

• Lead concept development for conveyor and sortation retrofits, upgrades, and expansions, translating customer goals into engineered solutions.
• Evaluate installed equipment and provide reuse, refurbish, or replace recommendations with engineering justification.
• Perform throughput, drive sizing, belt pull, and sorter induction capacity calculations.
• Develop ROM budgets, firm cost estimates, and technical proposals for aftermarket opportunities.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and coordinate with controls, sales, and project teams.
• Coordinate with controls, electrical, software and project management to ensure fit within system constraints.
• Travel up to 20% for site surveys, measurements, installation support, commissioning and meetings.
