Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for our Skylark products, focusing on avionics packaging, thermal management, and environmental qualification for space and airborne systems.

You will own CAD and FEA work, collaborate with electrical engineers, present review materials to customers, and contribute to proposals. A BS in Mechanical/Aerospace and 5+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in design and analysis of avionics or ruggedized embedded electronics packaging.
• Familiarity with electronics assemblies and collaboration with electrical engineers.
• Familiarity with design for test, manufacturability, assembly, and reliability.
• Experience with CAD and FEA tools, such as SolidWorks and Ansys.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for CesiumAstro products through all development phases.
• Perform thermal management design, simulations, and environmental qualification.
• Present design review materials to customers and leadership.
• Contribute to proposal writing efforts.
