Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II/III in the Burbank, CA area to drive New Product Development for brake control systems and hydro-mechanical components. You will design, analyze, and verify parts, acting as the primary technical contact for hydro-mechanical products on assigned programs.

The role requires a strong actuation background, 3–7+ years in aerospace, and proficiency with ANSI Y14.5 standards and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with 3–7+ years in aerospace industry.
• Experience in design of actuation and distribution components and/or systems (hydraulic valves, actuators, electromechanical devices).
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 standards, tolerance analysis, and CAD (SolidWorks) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create new products and modify existing products to meet requirements and standards.
• Perform stress and fatigue analysis on hydraulic and mechanical components and assemblies.
• Optimize designs based on analysis; calculate tolerance stack-ups and conduct FMEAs.
• Lead new product design projects from requirements through to qualified product.
• Manage suppliers to produce compliant products within budget and on time.
• Review and approve test procedures and reports; support design reviews.
